President elect get first security briefing.
President Elect B.O. will face global leaders both friendly and unfriendly after he has taken his inauguration vows. The President of Iran, Mr. Ahmadinejād, has forwarded his congratulations to the President Elect on his election victory. Russia has been steadfast and warned that they were not to be ignored as they place their missles on the perimeters of Poland.
The President Elect has already hinted that he would pull all troops out of Iraq within 16 months of his term in office and focus the United States military resources on Afghanistan.
The President Elect’s recent security briefing with the NSA has probably revealed many things to him that may change his military and strategic stance in the months to come. Even though Sarah Palin was unable to name the participants in the NAFTA free trade agreement let us not forget how B.O. trivialized the dangers of dealing with Iran. Knowing your enemy in a world of terrorism and conflict can make or break a president during his term. This type of ignorance does not bode well for ‘Joe the Plumber’ and I as we do not want another terrorist strike on U.S. soil.
Let us hope that President Elect B.O. pays very close attention to Pakistan. Pakistan is a potential ally in the war on terror and also possesses nuclear weapons. We do not want Islamic extremists overrunning Pakistan and getting their paws on nuclear armanents or it will take more than a decoder ring to solve our global terrorist challenge.

As always, I enjoyed your “cartoon” and commentary. However, I am not sure I agree completely with your statement…”…B.O. trivialized the dangers of dealing with Iran.”. I trust that B.O. will approach Iran (as well as an other country that supports global terrorism) with a firm message of intolerance for radical behaviors that disrupt the global community. He is a very intelligent and articulate person (unlike the current “occupant” of the White House). He also surrounds himself with advisors (on both sides of the aisle) and SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) well versed in the many challenges that face this country and the world.

I like your intelligent comment Robert. I formed my opinion primarily around the control of nuclear weapons. Anyone could retort that the Russians have lost track of some of their critical nuclear weapons and the threat cannot be confined to Pakistan alone. I guess the world is fortunate that some of things have not fallen into the hands of the Islamic Fundamentalists.
Another point I was trying to drive at was that no one man or woman cannot absorb all the intricacies of the various contracts we have entered into with other world governments. My example here was comparing Sarah Palin’s ignorance of NAFTA to B.O. stating early in his campaign that Iran was a trivial matter. I am sure that NSA has clarified this issue with the President Elect and now we must wait and hold our breath until we see how the President Elect shapes and directs his foreign policy. Of course this is simply my opinion.
